Ouch that hurts

I have come to the realization that I'm not 20 years old anymore. I struggle to recover from hard bike rides at times, I take longer to warm up and I now benefit from cooling down. I guess it's part of the aging process but it still stinks.

Yesterday, I decided to join a gym. I had been thinking about it for a while and finally took the plunge. So, I decided to get a work out in since I didn't ride. The plan is to do this when I'm limited for time or the weather isn't conducive for riding. So, around 6pm I headed over to the gym. The place was packed with people most likely who went straight from work. I did manage to get a good workout in though in about an hour and this morning I can feel every pull, tug and push as my legs, arms, shoulder and abdominal muscles are aching and soar.

I'm sure it will get better the more I work out and I'll get stronger which can only benefit my on my bike. Not to mention add more lean muscle to my frame which will help with the control of my body weight. But, right now a couple of Tylenol and some rest is what I crave.

I will probably go to the gym again tonight as I have clinical today and again won't be riding. I think I'll be going when it's not as crowded though.
