I'll be leaving tomorrow for a 6 hour drive to Calabasas where I'll be staying over night with my brother. We're riding a double century from Malibu to Carpentaria and back on Saturday.
I'm looking forward to the trip eventhough I'm driving alone this year. I haven't driven this far alone in I don't know how long. At a minimum it will give me lots and lots of time to think about things. I should be in Calabasas around 2pm and than we'll drive down to the coast near Pepperdine to sign in for the ride the following day.
I have no idea how the ride will turn out. Last year I had an upset stomach throughout the day which made it difficult to enjoy. This was compounded by a disagreement at the beach the day before with my then girl friend. Together I was just an grouch all day and took it out on my brother and friend Bill. This year I hope that things will be different. I'm hoping the drive down will be relaxing and the ride more of a theraputic thing than last year. We'll see how it goes.
