It's Thursday and for me a work day. At least I get to sleep in a little longer on Thursday and Friday. Usually by this time of the week I'm really dragging and exhausted. This morning is no different. I'm sure that the long day I had at clinical yesterday has caused me to feel a bit off my game today. My legs are still quite sore from standing for over 6 hours in surgery. That combined with the previous days leg workout at the gym and an upper body work out yesterday isn't helping either.
So, I'm drinking my coffee trying to get the blurriness out of my eyes and cobwebs out of my head so I can wake up enough to get dressed to ride to work. It looks to be a tough ride as the wind is expected to really increase this afternoon. With some luck though maybe I'll have a tail wind, but I'm not holding my breath. I'm guessing at best it will be a nasty cross wind. It doesn't matter though as I'll ride to work anyway.
I recently bought a Salsa single speed to ride to work. I love the bike and find it a lot of fun. It has a free wheel rather than a fixed cog. I'd ridden a ton on a fixed gear a few years ago so I didn't know what to expect from just a single speed bike. But, I've found that I do like it. I may eventually put a fixed cog on the other side of the rear wheel so I can alternate though as riding a fixed gear is a great work out and gives me the benefit of finding my weakness in my peddle stroke. But, that is a huge question.
